Printer is offline
Stay calm. Nothing is lost. The system noticed before you did.
What you see
An amber banner at the top of the Print Center: "PAL-Printer · Plant Vienna has been offline since 09:41." No red alarm — amber is enough, because nothing is broken.
What happens automatically
- Your print jobs stay in the queue. They are not deleted and not redirected to another printer without your decision.
- The system suggests a fallback printer (for example PAL-3 at Plant Linz) if one is set up.
- If the runner keeps running on the same device, it prints later automatically — with zero duplicates.
What you can do
- Use the fallback: Click "Use PAL-3?" in the banner. Your jobs go to the other printer.
- Wait: When the printer comes back, queued jobs start again on their own.
- Report it: If the printer has been offline for more than 30 minutes, tell IT. Give them the logical name (like PAL-1) and since when.
What does NOT happen
- No jobs disappear.
- No label prints twice — not even after a power failure.
- Nothing silently redirects to another printer without your approval.
